White Teeth!
Teeth whitening has been all the rage for a long time now. In fact I can remember when teeth whitening tooth pastes first came out and it seemed like a big deal. Now practically ever tooth paste has a whitening element associated with it.
And on top of that there are tons of gimmick teeth whitening products… gels… and mouth guards on the market. In fact the Internet is crawling with whitening products that are really no good.
If you are looking to get some real teeth whitening done, going to a trusted dentist is the only way to go. Let’s take a closer look at teeth whitening and why you might be a good candidate.
1. Natural Process of “Yellowing”
When you really think about all the foods and drinks that we consume each day it’s no wonder that our teeth don’t retain that beautiful white look. Coffee might be one of the biggest culprits… these days everything is so rush rush rush that many people rely on coffee throughout the day for that fuel.
However it’s things like that that stain the teeth. And if you ever go through a period in your life where you have had bad oral habits then that’s most likely when your teeth were really stained.
2. How Whitening Works
Basically your tooth at a deep level is porous and that’s who these discolored stains get into your teeth. Most whiteners are made up of carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide.
Essentially all that’s really going on is a bleaching of the teeth and in order to really have a quick noticeable affect you have to go to the dentist. Some of the at home methods work, but they will just take a little longer of a time.
If you are considering any type of tooth whitening procedure it’s best to at least consult your dentist and make sure that there will be no adverse affects and to make sure that any product you’re thinking of using won’t hurt your teeth.
